2/15 AEW DYNAMITE TV Results: Keller Report on MJF, Wardlaw and Adam Cole Interview, Mark Briscoe vs. Josh Woods

       (1) JEFF JARRETT, JAY LETHALE, SONJAY DUTT, SATNUM SINGH & ORANGE CASIDI, BILLY GUNN & THE RECOGNITIONS (Max Custer & Anthony Bowens)
As Jarrett walked out, the announcer remarked that he had a heavy heart from his father’s death. Max Caster raps. He said that Jeff’s father was a legend, but Jeff was just a jerk. He said he was as much of a bosom boy as an asshole. He also mentioned the TNA lockdown, which seemed to mean that he and his wife had nothing to do on Valentine’s Day. He also said that they are bringing back label names. Dart wore a dress shirt and yellow tie with leggings and wrestling boots. quite kind. When the game started, Excalibur hyped what would be on the show.
(Keller’s analysis: AEW posted photos of 30 people on social media, probably the most for any promotional content for a two-hour wrestling show.)
When Singh entered, he showed how much taller he was than Cassidy and then left. Keeping up with Billy Gunn, Jarrett pointed to the top of the ramp. Austin and Colten Gunn retire with AEW Tag Team Championships. When Schiavone criticized the Gunns and said he was glad his children were better, Taz said that Schiavone said he was a better father than Billy. According to Taz, back when Billy Gunn was a full-time wrestler, when you were a wrestler, you had to make a living.
Singh lunged at Gunn and knocked him over with a clothesline. When Cassidy went to throw an orange punch, Singh blocked him and knocked him down. Excalibur called him “a man like no other”. Billy got the award for Singer, but Singer just tagged Dutt. Dart will not enter. When the referee told him to enter the ring, Jarrett poked Billy with something. Chaos erupted with others. Cassidy ended up hitting Dart with an orange punch. The acclaimed set Dutt up for a double team. Bowens had to fend off Lethal’s interference. Billy then jumped off the second rope, only to be knocked down by Jarrett. Cassidy delivers an orange punch to Jarrett to knock him out. Cassidy then climbed onto the second pitch. He had to fight off Lethal. Bowens returned to the second rope and landed with his foot on Dart’s crotch when Custer broke his legs. This led to three points.
(Keller analysis: I’m not sure about following Jeff Jarrett like Custer did in his rap, not because Jeff will be legally abused, but fans might be turned away by Custer chasing his son mourning his father’s death. Outside As for this fight, It’s a Jeff Jarrett special and there’s a lot to do before it’s over. It’s more for comedy than to make the fight feel like it’s happening.Dutt on the back The length of the show and Caster with legs outstretched adds little to Singh’s show , which seems like a too gentle way for him to be in the ring during an actual match, but probably necessary because his limitations need to be masked.)
        – Bryan Danielson’s bloody account of his PPV fight with MJF last week was aired. He looks at the camera and says that MJF is shaking in his boots. He said that MJF’s actions were those of a scared and hopeless person. He said he would come to the AEW World Championship.
       (2) JOHN MOXSLEY & CLAUDIO CASTAGNOLI vs. PRESTON VANCE & RUSSIA (with Jose Assistant) – Texas Tornado Match
Mox and Claudio were walking through the crowd when they were attacked by Rush and Preston Vance. They switch to split screen as they continue to fight in the crowd. [fps]
After returning from a break, they fight in the ring. They argued for several more minutes. Mox bites Vance, then jumps on the rope at Vance and Rush. They switch to another split screen. [fps]
Mox was bleeding at this point. They cut to “Cowboy” Adam Page, watching the game sideways on a monitor in the background. (Remember the day the Bucks made fun of that angle and camera position?) Claudio punches Vance in the corner with a chain-wrapped fist. Vance’s eyebrow was bleeding. Claudio then hit him hard and scored twice. Rush attacks Claudio. Mox joins the fray. Vance caught Mox with a discus lasso on two counts. Blood gushed from Vance’s forehead. All four stood up, formed a pair and started punching and kicking each other. Jose’s assistant hits Claudio on the back with a chair. The judges didn’t do anything because it was a Texas tornado game, so obviously there were no rules. Wheeler Yuta runs out and attacks José. They hit in the back.
The camera zooms in on Mox’s bloodied face. Rush threw Claudio aside and attacked him in the corner. Claudio responded with a spear from the corner and almost fell. Mox then attacked Vance with a chain, wrapping it around his neck and pulling it back to win. They switch back to Hangman watching in the background and nod to show he’s impressed. Kip Sabian, Butcher and Blade attack the executioner. The dark order came to the rescue. The high heels are gone.
(Keller Analysis: I mean, if you like bloodshed and non-stop violent fights, this game is for you. How else? But if you want something else, this game is definitely not for you. Preston and Rush are not strong enough to be convincing opponents, except in the ring.)
        – they approached the announcer for the cameras to react. Excalibur then produced a sit-down interview with Jim Ross and Wardlaw.
Ross asks Wadlow what he’s going to do next. Wadlow said his father instilled in him all of his athleticism and drive for as long as he could remember, until he was eight years old. He said that his father ceased to be in his life after he was eight years old and until he became an adult. They then rekindled their father-son relationship, he said. According to him, as soon as this happened, his father told him that he had stage four cancer and his time was running out. He said that the next time he saw him, he was at the hospice. He said he had his first wrestling match. He said he assured his father that he would do the right thing and succeed. He said that was the last thing he said to him because his father died the next day. According to him, after his death, he decided to grow his hair and beard because he saw how his father lost them when he got cancer. He said that Samoa Joe knew this when he cut his hair. He looks at the camera and tenses up, saying that with what Joe has achieved and with everyone he’s beaten in the past, he can’t match him.
(Keller’s analysis: Absolutely the most likeable, personable, and multi-dimensional person Wardlow has ever met. The new look has served him well and has actually been a marked improvement.)
When Briscoe came out, they showed a clip in which Woods confronts Mark and tells him to watch who he puts his hands on. When Briscoe got ready early, Daivari and Nese pulled him out of the ring. Pentagon Jr. and Ray Phoenix rushed to the rescue. Woods gave Briscoe a corkscrew suplex from the ring apron to the floor. They switch to split screen. [fps]
Briscoe parried and landed with a bouncing projectile on the side of the racetrack. He threw Woods back into the ring and finished with a double count on the top rope. He called Jay Driller. Woods dodged his attempt, rolled him up, and then let Pure Chaos fall for two counts. Briscoe came back and achieved victory with a top rope elbow. Mark said the Briscoes were the greatest doubles team of all time and he will continue to do so.
-Rene Paquette interviews Adam Cole backstage. She asked how he was doing. He said he was great and he’s excited to be back on the road with AEW. He said he was a little discouraged because he wanted to be allowed to compete in wrestling matches. He says that his right eye is no longer twitching and he doesn’t need to stop because he doesn’t feel well. He said that the list was made, and he knows that when he returns, he must be as prepared as possible. He said he was following some opponents. Rene asked him if he would reveal who it was. He said he hasn’t disclosed yet, but will leave it up to the AEW list. He said it was good for AEW wrestling and for himself.
(Keller analysis: Considering what Cole went through, it would be almost irresponsible, as a non-specialist, to put your health on his side. At the very least, people have mixed feelings about wanting to see him return. Having said that, he really looks like him really beaming because he looks pleased that he’s better now.Let’s hope he and his medical consultants don’t land him in a major setback that could affect the rest of his life.)
-MJF is standing in the ring and the fans are booing him. he said to Danielson. He said fans loved Danielson: “You have no idea how angry I am.” He said fans loved him not too long ago. “These idiots worshiped demons.” He said they were hideous and fickle monsters. He said he turned on them before they could turn on him. He said that at least he was honest about being the devil. Fans shouted “Shut up!”
MJF says they like what they think of Danielson, but in real life, Danielson is a useless bag of garbage. He said he hated him for another reason. He said he hated him because he made people believe he was better than him. Fans chanted “Yes! He asked if it was because Danielson gave them the best entertainment, or made cool moves, or because of “five star stars”. He said that’s not why they went into this business. He said the reason they got into the business was to become world champions. He said the only way to know that you are the best in the world is if you own AEW World Hvt. championship. He said it was something that Danielson could never achieve. He said he knows that on March 5, Danielson will do his best for an hour that will take him through the toughest race of his life. However, he vowed that he would emerge victorious in the end. He said Danielson didn’t have what it took to win. When he started saying his name and the fans joined in, he paused and yelled, “This is not singing with MJF, shut up!
MJF said that if they don’t believe in him, maybe they will believe in the man who was his mentor, “Fallen Angel” Christopher Daniels. Daniels left. Excalibur says Danielson and Daniels set the early days for ROH. MJF demands that Daniels reveal the truth about Danielson. The truth, he said, was that MJF paid him a fortune to discredit Danielson on TV. MJF is furious that Daniels betrayed him. Daniels said there was a time when he happily took his money and spent hours burying Danielson. He said he wasn’t like that now. He said. “The truth is, Bryan Danielson is ready to smash your cock into the dirt,” Schiavone said. “It’s very revealing,” said Bryan Danielson, 20, hitting him so hard he thought he was going to die. He said he knew Danielson would be great.
He said he saw Danielson win the APW King of India Championship, directly inspiring ROH to promote. He said that ROH brought true professional wrestling to the fans who were craving it at the time. He compared it to the launch of AEW four years ago. He said that without ROH there would probably be no AEW “and certainly no MJF”. . He said he tried to learn something new in every game before he became world champion.
He said that Danielson knows what it takes to be a world champion and that’s why people love him. “That’s why you hate him, Max,” he said. He said that he was exactly what MJF wanted him to be. He says that today he is the best wrestler in the world. He said that MJF was a liar and that Danielson would take him on and expose him. MJF had had enough, he knocked the mic out of his hands and pushed it. MJF was outraged and insisted that he was the best in the world. Daniels slaps MJF. MJF kicks Daniels in the crotch and puts earth salt on the ring in the middle of his arm. Danielson ran into the ring. MJF parachuted in and quickly retreated.
(Keller’s analysis: very good. Daniels does a good job of touting Danielson’s track record. MJF is totally in character MJF paying someone to falsely break Danielson’s setup and when Daniels makes it clear that MJF boils when it doesn’t go MJF is really good at using such kind of more traditional content to make a statement, instead of opening the envelope and chasing hype and rage online.)
       - They watch clips of AEW’s brewing rivalry between female “homegrown stars” and “outsiders” or “freelancers.”
-Vignette with Gunns. Austin lists all the phrases that critics have used against them. Kolten said he wished they had to work for an independent company first or fight for $10 a game. “Welcome to The Gunn Show,” they said together.
(Keller’s analysis: Actually, the music and how it was edited along with the Gunns’ performance is pretty good. A great way to create a buzz among AEW fans is to brag about skipping indie games on their way to national stardom.)
Excalibur noted that “Rampage” aired early Friday morning due to TNT’s coverage of the NBA All-Star Weekend starting Friday night. They traded wild swings and near drops. Eventually Perry dropped Cage to win.
        – When Perry was celebrating, Christian Cage came on stage with his music playing. His right arm is tied in a sling. As Perry charged, Christian fired at him with his mace. Perry fell. Fans chanted, “You suck!” Christian then removed the bandage and tossed it aside, showing that he had recovered. He picked Perry up and handed him the kill switch on the ramp.
(Keller analysis: Perry has a solid big-cage win. It’s good to see Christian returning soon to end the feud with Perry.)
        – Rene announced that there will be a team battle royal followed by a casino battle royale, with the winner added to the Revolution team championship. Welcome, and Gunn interrupted him. Bowens said they wouldn’t give up the fight and they would refer to the rematch clause in Revolution so the three way fight would be a four way fight.
(Keller analysis: I’d rather see a two-on-two rematch at Revolution than a four-man showdown. Bowens has a great mic and takes the lead.)
        – Clip of Hangman being attacked by Sabian, Butcher and Blade earlier. Excalibur says that the Executioner-Sabian match will be next, but they don’t have an update on the Executioner yet. [WITH]
        – They went backstage where the Young Bucks, Kenny Omega, Don Kalis and Michael Nakazawa were gathered to talk about the NBA All-Star Weekend. Top Flight and AR Fox issued a demand for a rematch. Callis dismissively said that they had already lost, so no. Dante Martin said they obviously enjoyed playing with the ball, but they didn’t really have one. Kenny says that if they want to disrespect them, they will have a rematch. He asked the Bucks and they agreed. Matt Jackson tosses a basketball to Brandon Cutler, who takes them off.
The executioner looked unhappy and went after Sabian at first, but Sabian quickly gained the upper hand. Showing off, the executioner came to his senses and returned. The executioner throws a blow from behind and then pops up. Sabian stepped aside. Sabian dodged the Executioner and then kicked his head off the hoop. He followed him with Acai’s moonflip on the floor. They switch to split screen. [fps]
After the break, the Executioner made a comeback and dropped a powerful bomb on the almost falling Central. Schiavone said that Sabian had mental problems due to all the injuries that showed up in sitting on the sidelines for months with a box on his head. Hangman won Dead Eye.
—— After that, Moxley, Claudio and Utah entered the ring. Mox tells the Executioner that the Executioner thinks they have unfinished business, but they don’t because he held him back the last time they fought. He said he respected him, but was not afraid. He said that he would never have a chance to beat him again. “So let him go,” he said. Fans chant “Mosley!”
Gallows said that he was unhappy with the outcome of their last game, as was Mox. He said that their rivalry could not end in unification. He said that when two people fight in a back alley and only one is left standing, it should be over. He challenges Mox to complete tasks in Revolution. Mox said he would like to walk with him down a dark alley. He said he was glad his friends weren’t trying to talk him out of the affair. “Emo Cowboy has no friends,” he said.
Evil Uno brought John Silver and Alex Reynolds into the ring. Uno says that they are Hangman’s friends and are not afraid of Moxley. He is the cheeky Mox. Mox outruns Evil Uno and challenges the Executioner to a Texas deathmatch in Revolution. The executioner’s music blared. Mox left the ring. Excalibur said that he likes the sound of this game.
(Keller’s analysis: The idea that the Executioner and Mox are not satisfied with the end of their last battle makes sense. However, belonging to the Dark Order continues to weigh on the Executioner.)
        – Schiavone interview with the Jericho Appreciation Society. Chris Jericho said that Ricky Starks got lucky once, but it won’t happen again because he’s not on his level. Daniel Garcia said he was going to play against him on Friday and would prove that now is not his time. Matt Mendard and Angelo Parker agreed that the Starks were “absolutely obnoxious and delusional”. Jack Hagrid chimed in: “I like the hat.” Sammy Guevara nodded in the background. Garcia said he would expose Starks as a complete liar. Jericho held back Schiavone.
        – Excalibur hyped the Rampage roster: Starks vs. Garcia, Elite vs. Top Flight and AR Fox, Jade Cargill vs. Wertwixen, and Swerve Strickland vs. “Natural” Dustin Rhodes. Instead, he’s promoting MJF against Danielson, Samoa Joe against Wardlow and a foursome for various titles at the next PPV, and Moxley against The Executioner in the Texas Death Match. He announced that Mox would take on Evil Uno and also play in a team fight for a spot at the Dynamite Foursome PPV next week. [WITH]
        — Schiavone interviews Stokely Hathaway and his staff. Stockley said that Hooker should have been fired for hurting him. He said he was on the phone with Jesse Jackson, Al Sharpton and Jesse Davis all weekend. Ethan Page and Matt Hardy asked him where he was last week. Isaiah Cassidy groaned into Stokely’s ear. Schiavone said he was told Hooker had been suspended while the investigation was underway. Stockley is celebrating.
Storm and Saraya come out first. When Ruby came out, Excalibur said that Ruby got into this situation because she had been in AEW longer than Storm and Shed, but had also established herself outside of AEW. Baker and Jamie Hyatt are next. They switch to split screen after a few minutes. [fps]
After the break, Baker scored against Storm and almost went down. A minute later, Baker gave Storm another chance to fall. Soho hit Baker in the leg. When the second hour came to an end, Schiavone said that they would stay here as long as needed. The storm puts Soho in the ring of snipers. Baker went to Loc Jo. Saraya broke it. Storm then gave Hayter a swinging DDT, which fell out of the ring. Saraya splattered green paint on Storm’s ass, then stabbed Baker in the corner, printing her entire face in green paint. Ruby throws Strom out of the ring towards Sarai and Ruby rolls Baker on the count of three. Excalibur says that everyone is their own competitor.
Saraya and Hayter then confronted Soho’s face. Ruby yells “Enough!” Excalibur says that she is tired of being pulled in different directions. According to him, the difficult situation is becoming more and more difficult. He turned to block Rampage’s early gambit.
