Choosing which gaming chair to buy can be tricky. If you’re anything like me, every time you start looking for a chair, you’re instantly stunned and stop, telling yourself to try again another day. Who can blame you? The market is saturated with many chairs that basically look the same but often vary greatly in price. The average person knows little about the nuances of chairs and just wants something comfortable. Fortunately, I didn’t have to overcome this growing anxiety every time I accidentally looked at a web page full of chairs, because I had the opportunity to check out the DXRacer Craft 2022 chair collection, more specifically, “Koi” or “Lucky” . Always” chair – I am happy to report that it meets all my requirements.
Now I’ll be the first to admit that I’m not a fan of chairs. Unlike our editor-in-chief Ron, who has looked at more chairs than I’ve sat in my entire life, I rarely buy new chairs. This review is written only for those who appreciate the comfort of chairs, but do not necessarily understand the intricacies of chair design.
The first thing you’ll notice about the Koi Pond DXRacer Craft chair is the stunning 3D embroidered koi pattern on the back of the chair, as well as the beautiful embroidery details on the front and sides. Gold embroidery complements the deep black of the faux leather chair, making it stand out from the competition. While the chair looks great in the photos, I can’t get over how incredible the details of the chair look. It took a lot of hard work and dedication to create this chair and it shows.
Looks are one thing, but functionality and comfort are why people buy chairs, so let’s dig a little deeper. This particular DXRacer Craft series chair has a recommended weight of 200 pounds and a maximum weight of 250 pounds, while the recommended height is 5’7″ and the maximum height is 6’0″ – although I think someone taller could easily use this chairs and they are still comfortable. This chair combines molded high-density foam with a faux leather cover for a firm yet comfortable seat that changes slightly to better fit your contours. Versatile 135-degree recline provides plenty of recline options, especially when paired with a cooling gel foam pad.
The chair has a sturdy metal frame with a 27.5″ diameter aluminum base mounted on 60mm polyurethane coated castors, allowing the chair to glide easily over carpet or flat surfaces. At its widest point, the back is 20.8 inches wide, the seat is 22.4 inches wide and 22 inches deep. BIFMA certified class 4 pneumatic lift allows for quick chair height adjustments ranging from 18″ to 21″. In addition, the armrests are 4D, and by pressing a button on the inside of each armrest, you can move them forward and backward, as well as rotate or extend. The armrests are approximately 26 to 29 inches from the floor, depending on how high the chair is adjusted.
I was quick to mention the cooling gel pad, but I wanted to talk about the comfort of this pad. This pillow is designed to regulate your body temperature while remaining firm enough to naturally support the shape of your head and neck, and it does it well. The pillow is firm and cool to the touch, made from comfortable memory foam. Leaning back in my chair and relaxing on the pillows was much more comfortable than I thought.
One surprising feature, at least for me, is the integrated lumbar support. A rotary switch located on the right side of the chair allows the backrest to be adjusted for optimal spine support, with a mechanism that allows the backrest to protrude slightly, providing excellent lumbar support, an area I often experience pain.
I could talk about specs all day, but anyone using Google can easily find most of the information above. The purpose of the review is to express my opinion about a particular product, hopefully to help those who doubt whether it is worth buying. So here’s what I did: the Koi 2022 DXRacer Craft Collection chair is incredible; The sophistication of the design, combined with the solid construction, user-friendly features and overall quality, creates an incredibly pleasing combination that delivers the most important characteristic of any chair – comfort.
Sitting in the DXRacer chair, you’ll feel relaxed and supported thanks to molded foam, cooling memory foam cushions and synthetic leather material. With multiple armrest, height, tilt and lumbar support adjustments, you’ll quickly find the perfect setting for long gaming sessions. Admittedly, the price is a bit high at around $479.00 which will put some potential buyers off, but I can say the quality is worth the price and provides a phenomenal seating experience and is also a terrific addition to your playroom. ask a friend about it and check out the design details.
Although I can only use the Koi Fish chair, I want to illustrate that there are several chairs in this series with different designs but the same construction and functions. Designs featuring Cosmos, Cat, America, Rabbit, Thinker and a basic black version are available on the DXRacer website. Each design looks incredible, with the same attention to detail as a koi design, and yet varied enough to stand out from one another.
